He leaves a letter in which he makes everyone believe that he committed suicide after discovering his wife's betrayal, and he flees with Amal to Alexandria. There, he meets the teacher Ismail, and his flirtatious wife tries to seduce him, but he rejects her. Ismail rewards him by facilitating his escape on a ship.
