While dining out with her husband at a Spanish restaurant, Yoko hears that the writer, Mikiro Shimizu, has disappeared. Yoko comes forward and sets off alone to Andalusia, Spain, to look for Shimizu. On the way, she meets a young man named Yu, who is traveling around the country on a bicycle, and a mysterious woman named Aki, and the three of them follow Shimizu's trail, relying on a manuscript titled "False Blood" and the word "platelo" that he left in his room.
