Orhan, Handan's older brother, who could never accept Cevat, saw this situation as an opportunity. He put Cevat to work as a laborer on his farm. He also sent Handan abroad to study for a while. Handan and Cevat, who had grown up together, realized during this time apart that they were in love with each other. However, Orhan would try to prevent this love.
